I used to wear my tight biking shorts when mountain biking last summer. I'd change out of them immediately after riding and didn't have much in the way of pain (I also have a cut out saddle which helps tremendously). However, since then, I no longer can wear anything tight and even have trouble wearing most pants (that's another story). I went to the bike shop to try out the looser fitting pants they now make. The only problem was that the waist on them is too high such that it would feel tight around my waist when I leaned over in a position similar to riding. The completely elastic waist banded pants were no better because the elastic was too tight. I want to find padded shorts that I can wear because the padding helps keep my tush from getting saddle sore.
The only other thing I can think of doing is some sewing machine magic and cut the padding out of the shorts and see if I can sew them to a pair that fit well. I'm kind of hesitant since they were a bit pricey. Anybody got any suggestions? Of course, I'm assuming that I'll be able to ride again this summer.
