I am having a laproscopic surgery, as well as a cystoscopy on the same day. I will be under anesthesia. I was wondering what to expect. Can someone share their experience as far as pain levels and recovery?I have a few questions.

Was there any SCARRING from the laproscopy?
How was your urethra after the cysto? i have urethral pain so I am nervous.
Was there any complications?
Was there any pain besides your typical IC pain?
AND RESULTS.... What did your laproscopy find???
what did your cysto find??
How long til you were back on your feet, and til you were back to your old self?

any tips or advice for me? I am having my surgery on April Fools Day!!! :( I am very scared for complications, as well as bad urethral pain and scars...I am also scared they will find something bad, because I have had chronic pelvic pain for 5 years now. But it will finally be a relief to know exactly what I am dealing with, and exactly what the damage is if any.

Was there any SCARRING from the laproscopy?
I have a small one cm scar in the lower part of my belly button.

How was your urethra after the cysto? i have urethral pain so I am nervous.
Very raw. Burned like the dickens to pee.

Was there any complications?
Lap: No
Cysto/Hydro: Yes,complete urinary retention and paralzyed intestines and bowels...called an Ileus
(I had the surgeries a month apart, not at the same time)

Was there any pain besides your typical IC pain?
Lap: very little
Cysto/hydro: severe pain

AND RESULTS.... What did your laproscopy find???
what did your cysto find??
Lap: No endo was found, but learned that one fallopian tube is blocked with scar tissue (nothing to worry about, causes me no pain, but would make getting pregnant a bit more difficult for me)
Hydro: Inflammation indicative of IC, no cancer, Hunner's Ulcers (ulcers were burned off and I believe have not returned...surgery was Nov 2004)

How long til you were back on your feet, and til you were back to your old self?
Lap: had surgery on Thurs and was back to work Mon with minimal pain, mainly lower back pain
Hydro: over a month, because of complications, missed a lot of work
