Ughhh...For quite a while now, when I pee, I have burning. Several times I had visible blood in urine but it wasn't a lot. I had a CT-Scan and it showed 2kidney stones. The stones are located in the right kidney and have not moved or changed shaped in years.

This morning when I urinated, the urine looked a bit dark to me so I peed in a cup. It's hard to explain the color but it's darker than a normal yellow. More like brownish/rusty color. Could be even little blood mixed in. I just went to the Urologist and explained my concern (as this happened before) and she said my urine was totally clear that day. No infection, no blood. But today again it looks dark and burns. It usually lasts just for one day then clears up. I know I do not have an infection. Just wondering what your urine color looks like in the morning and if this is normal. Maybe I need another CT-Scan. Thanks for your help!!

Have you ever noticed that your urine smells different sometimes? It is because of what you have had to eat or drink over a period of time. I wonder if the color also changes because of that?

I don't have an answer for you other than possible blood in the urine, but if I were you and this happened, I would have a chat with my doctor. I know you said your doctor checked for infection, but did he give any kind of reason as to why you notice this? The burning would be of concern to me, also. I think it would be important to ask your doctor to culture your urine or have it cultured at a lab if all that is being done is a dip stick test at the time of your appointment.

Also, my urine is always stronger smelling and darker in color in the mornings at first pee. I think that is pretty common since we have not urinated for several hours or over night.

Thank you Sharon

The blood was a rusty color this morning but now it's a light pinkish. I'm drinking more water. There's definitely blood since it's now pink and it still burns. I'm so tired of this and no one can seem to give me answers. I have an appt. on March 30 but I"ll have to call tomorrow if this continues. When this happened last year I went to my former Urologist and he almost laughed about it saying there is NOT a lot of blood because even a small amount of blood expands when it hits the water. But I'm peeing in a cup. I am due for my period any day and I wonder if this could cause it. Who know.....

It could be from diet, but if you are showing blood it could be infection.

It's true that it only takes a little blood to turn urine pink, but it's also true that microscopic blood detected by a lab test is worth your uro's concern and reassurance. It would be good to find out exactly what's going on.

Urine is usually more concentrated in the morning, unless you are drinking water several times during the night.

It's a good thing you dumped that uro; finding visible blood in your urine doesn't make for a laughable experience in my book.
