Antihistimine and IC Symptoms

Does anyone have any experience with antihistimines and IC relief?
I have started taking daily allegra-D for allergies and have noticed
that I don't have as much back pain or frequency. I wonder if
there is a connection or if I'm just in a remission.

Check out the forum "Treatments for Mild IC..." and you will find a topic devoted to antihistamines. Hydroxyzine (generic for Atarax) is one of the most common meds prescribed for IC. IC is thought by many to be an auto-immune disease. The bladder produces mast cells, which is a histamine reaction to irritation or sensitivity of some sort. So antihistamines can bring relief, often in combo w/other drugs. If Allegra is helping you that's great. It may be contributing to a remission of your symptoms.
