meeting today

Hey Everyone from all over the country:

I just wanted to let you know, you need to have meetings with other folks with IC. We had a meeting today (just 4 of us to start) and it was great to talk, face to face, with others. All we did was figure out who was in the local area, then PM'd them and then we met at Red Lobster this morning. Would like more than just 4 next time. We plan on doing it monthly. WE exchanged alot of information on IC support in the local area, and how we cope.

I really do suggest all to try to meet up with others who are the same boat. It really takes a load off your mind to realize you aren't alone.

One thing I did was tell my urologist that we were getting together and told her if she had anyone who might be interested to have them call me. We didn't get any takers for this week, but I only gave her a few days notice. It was very nice to get to talk face to face with other IC ladies. It can be a lonely condition.

Were your ears burning today? we talked about you:) It's a stretch from JC but it might be fun if you could come next time. We meet around the Wa. Square area and talked today about meeting 1x/month.

Everyone else, wish you lived closer, I would sure like to meet you all. Iknow there is usually a conference in the fall but who can afford that?

Sure was a beautiful day to day for this!!! It was gorgeous and 70 degrees.

Hey girls, it was soooo wonderful to meet you all this morning. I hope that we can keep meeting and really grow our friendships. I look at today as just the first step in developing some close and valuable relationships. I have always believed that we need friends in our life. This is a good thing that we are doing, not only for ourselves but for each other. Thank you all for showing up. :kissing:

We'll have to meet and see who can drink each other under the table.....with water...Ha, Ha, ha..I thought that waiter was close to rolling his eyes with exasperation when we all ordered water.

And picky, picky...poor guy came back at least 3 times before we figured out what we wanted.:dogrun: Had him running....but he was kinda cute so I didn't mind so watching him go. :wink: Well..the meeting was fun, and yes, we need to cultivate our friendship. I thought it humorous that we managed to back up the bathroom. What a line to the can.

thanks again for you guys all coming together to meet. That was fun and the most interesting time I've had in a while. AND it wasn't a *****fest...just suggestions and similarities/differences in symptoms.

Where to next month and what date....Maybe we should rotate duties on who has to figure out what. Hmmm....What is a good date next month for everyone? You can all PM me for response.

I would like to meet others with IC, but do not know of anyone in Oklahoma. We could have lunch, order pizza with no toppings and a keg of water :biglaugh:, tell stories, encourage each other and not feel so alone. :thumbsup:

I like that people with IC like to get together. When I was first dx'd I felt releived to have a name for my pain, but soon realized that no one understood and then felt very alone. My closest friends still tell me to drink cranberry juice.:shake:

yeah...we kinda felt that way too. Trying to figure out when and where to meet next and have to worry about what we can actually eat. It's spring and is usually my margarita drinking weather. yet, once again, I'm having water. "sigh"...I really feel a straight shot or two of tequila due to this decision I have to make regarding the interstim...(Hmm..maybe before the surgery..da, da, da, da, da, da, da "tequila"):dance: Has to work better than the versed they used for me last time.
