I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET SSI AND I EVEN HAVE A LAWYER. I HAVE BEEN DENIED AND THEY WANT MORE INFORMATION ABOUT ME. I HAVE SEEN MANY DR.S I WAS TOLD THE MORE DR APPOINTMENTS I GO TO THE BETTER CHANCE I WOULD HAVE TO OBTAIN SSI. I REALLY DO NOT UNDERSTAND !! HOW DO THEY EXPECT YOU TO GO THE DR WHEN YOU HAVE NO INSURANCE. AND ALL THE HEALTH INFO IS IN FRONT OF THEIR FACES AND THEY STILL NEED MORE INFO? SHOULD I REAPPLY AGAIN ON MY OWN? MAYBE I NEED A NEW LAWYER:)

Being approved on the first try is very unusual.

One thing you can do is to contact the offices of any doctor you have seen in the past and ask for records. I'm sure others who have won this battle will step in to help with advice.

Sending an encouraging hug,
Donna

Well it took me two denials before I won. If you glance at my health story you will see if it was hard for me......it is hard battle for most.

I recommend making a daily chart of your symptoms......listing what you were capable of doing and what you couldn't....and talking about this with a doctor.....you need a doctor to agree you are disabled to win usually.

If you tried to work part time....or changed jobs, or anything you tried to do to keep working that didn't end up being successful will help.

Good luck to you...I saw a DVR officer who couldn't find me a job with my limiations...that may have helped.....not everyone can get DVR's help but you can look into it or trying a specialist that find's people work to give a statement of weather it is possible in your condition.

it took me two years to get mine and it was hard going without money for that matter of time but somehow with the grace of the Lord and he had to be looking out for us we made it. please file a letter of appl. sp? or get a lawyer. that is what i did yes some people can get approved without the help from a lawyer but for me personally it was easier to hire him and let him get all the information and do the work. it kept alot of stress off of me.
if you havent already appl. this please call 1-800-772-1213 as soon as possiable you don't have long to appl this.

also in the mean time apply for medicaid to get help on your medical bills.
you can get this if your not working also if you havent already done so please go to the low income board and check out information about dis. on there.
sending you prayers and hugs.
Rhonda:pray:
if you need anything please email me i will be happy to try to help you. if i can't help you i will find a way to find out your information you need in order to help you somehow.

I was one of the lucky ones who got approved on the first try. I really recommend getting the packet from the ICA. If you can't afford it, private email me and I will make copies of mine and send it to you. Good luck, I will pray for you. I don't know why they have to make it so hard on us. We would all gladly work if we didn't have the pain and the frequency. Good Luck!!!
