Hey Gemini,
Just sending a welcome to the ICN! I hope that you will find this place a valuable source of information, understanding & friendship... Many of us have gone through what you are describing & have come through it, so feel free to talk about your experience & ask as many questions as you want...
Cheers,

4sho. I appreciate dat. I was wondering 2, do you know anyone who has got sometype of botox injection in through their urethra to da spincter muscle to help with hypertoncity? Cuz a uro mentioned dat, we can give this a try, but its not fda approved yet and she told me a common side effect was leakage. So i took a pass, but i was curious and want 2 kno if anyone has tried it and was it a positive experience???
Hi again,
Here's a link to a question/answer session with a doctor who does botox injections with IC & pelvic pain patients. I don't know how much would be different for a man with IC as compared to a woman.... But check the article out!

If no one comes on here with their experiences about botox, you could also use the search feature in the dark turquoise bar at the top of the page & that will link you to some posts on it.
Hope that helps!

Hi Gemini!
I have met one female patient who had botox & said it didn't help her, but everyone is different. You are not alone here, we are all the same...some better, some worse in their symptoms. Try not to stay isolated. The first few months I could only make it to the drugstore to pick up my meds, but I was so happy to be out. Now I have ventured out longer & farther. It is scary, but even if you take a walk down the street & back, or write & vent to us. I'm older, but there are lots of people in their twenties like you here who understand. Best wishes & speedy healing, Karen

I don't have any personal experience with botox but thought I would say :welcome: to the ICN, anyway. :)

Hello there!! I have heard some good and bad with the Botox.. So I just think you should do some more research.. Also If you have a good relationship with your Dr then he should be leading you in the right directions..
