Hello. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem: I have a lot of pain during sex, to the point that I have to stop. The thrusting puts pressure on my bladder, in some positions more than in others, and the pressure/discomfort lingers even after sex .. I have never had problem with sex prior to the procedure, on the contrary - pain always temporarily dissolved in the pleasure :) - but since I had this thing done, I cannot have sex! Could it be the remnants of a bladder infection giving me this pain (I got infection after the procedure and am on a recovery)? Or the temporary effects of the procedure itself? It has been over a month now, since I had the procedure done. Thank you.

As has been said before we are sooo individual in how we recover/respond/ react to the hydro. I know from your posts that your recovery was longer than you were prepared for (doctor is to blame for that realization even if there is no way to predict recovery time...b/c recovery time in the real IC world from a hydro may be few days to several months...something that most drs do not mention!!!:( ugghhhh!)
I THINK that if you had hydro just over a month ago AND you also acquired an infection that required antibiotic treatment....then both, one, or the other, have created a situation where you are most likely still healing from both hydro and infection.
My rule is if already in pain, abstain. Esp if you are recovering from surgery and/or infection. There are many ways to be intimate without having intercourse....intercourse can cause you to have even LONGER recovery....believe me, for MANY OF US, one month or more is NOT long, considering the consequances of pain and other symptoms that can come from having intercourse too soon after surgery or infection.
I speak for myself b/c I have been there....but please know that you can be intimate with your partner in many ways, even if it just means satisfying your partner....but if having actual intercourse at this time so soon (and yes it IS still soon after surgery and your infection) is painful...please please please give your body more time to recover!!!.... slow down and find other ways to be intimate....which it seems like you can since you are in committed relationship??? And your body when given this time to recover will thank you in a few weeks, month....;)

A post-op infection can definitely slow recovery time. Hopefully you'll feel better soon.
Warm hugs,
