Hi ladies,
I have been taking a very low dose of cystex( 1 pill every night) The package says you can take up to 2 pills every 4 hours. I have only been taking one pill every night. Well I have been doing this for two weeks. The other night I woke up at midnight with severe pain in my stomach and then I vomited). I felt better the next day, but still a little off. I do not think it was a bug since I have have the stomach bug before and I had alot of other symptoms like muscle aches and felt bad alot longer. Anyhow, I was reading that there is asprin in cystex and urelle. It says that it can cause stomach bleeding. I am wondering if it is the asprin in the cystex that caused me to get sick. I asked my pharmacist and she said that Yes, asprin can cause stomach bleeding and irriatation, but since I was on a very low dose, that would be unlikely.
The cystex contains 165mg of sodium saclicytate(sp)in each pill, which is basically asprin. I would think this is a low dose since regular asprin contains like 325mgs of asprin and higher. It was really helping me with my pain and UTI symptoms. I hate that I have had to stop it, but am worried about getting internal bleeding from the asprin. Any thoughts on this? I thought about asking my doctor, but she is not going to know anything, I am sure. Do you think it was the asprin that caused me this severe pain and vomiting. I only vomited once that night and felt a little better the next day. Is it possible that the 1 pill I was taking every night built up in my system and caused stomach irritation?
