Hello- I have a question about these two medicines even though I don't know for sure yet if I'm pregnant. I was prescribed tramadol and oxycodone as needed for pain. About a week ago which would be two weeks before my period is due I started having breast soreness, which is a lot earlier than I usually have it. Anyway I'm not sure what to think so for the last two days I have stopped them both until I know for sure about the 27th. But in the last 12 days between when I possibly conceived and when I stopped the medicine, I took 2 oxycodone and an average of 2 tramadol a day I'm worried that if I am pregnant the baby could have permanent damage from the last 12 days. Does anyone have experience with these drugs while pregnant, and do you think I have anything to worry about? I'm not going to take anymore until I know for sure. Any help would be appreciated, as I'm worried about this on top of the possible pregnancy. Thank You!:help:

Please let us know once you find out if you are pregnant for sure. Only your Doctor can tell you of any damage that might occurred. I had our two children in the 60's and knew nothing about the dangers of smoking, eatting all the wrong foods, worked for 9 hours a day in a factory that had many chemicals that were dangerous. My generation just never knew of the danger to the child we were carrying. With the Grace of GOD they were born normal and healthy. Today I would be ultra careful. Please don't worry until you see your Doctor. That stress alone can not be good for you or your baby. I understand your fear but you couldn't be the first woman to have taken drugs while unknowingly pregnant. I hope some here can give you their experience with this problem. I care about you greatly. Hugs, Ziggy

I just did a search for each of the two drugs in pregnancy. It's not very likely that any harm has been done. I do think you should talk with your doctor before taking any more, however.
Warm hugs,

I had to stop taking my tramadol while pregnant and was only prescribed lortab and then ambien to sleep at night. I should add that I wasnt diagnosed back then either. We just thought it was chronic back pain.

I spoke to my OBGYN about this last week. I'm hopefully going to get married next year and have a baby the year after that. With IC, I was of course concerned about whether or not I would be able to take my pain medication. I usually take either my oxycodone, tramadol, or hydrocodone about 5-10 pills a month.
My doc said that in small doses like I take, all three drugs should be fine. He said he'd only be concerned if I was taking more than 30mg of any of those a day consistently.
Definitely talk to your own doctor about this though, that's just one man's opinion. I've read elsewhere that you shouldn't take tramadol during pregnancy.
