Ugh, I have been flaring all day... I've got the works -- frequency, urgency, back pain, groin pain, bladder pain (my bladder is alternating between feeling like a balloon about to pop and a heavy, throbbing bowling ball sitting in my pelvis).
I came home from work and took pain meds after my husband begged me to... he said I looked very pale and knew I was in pain. Has anyone ever had the experience where you know you are in pain, but you don't realize quite how much pain there really is until it eases up a little? I didn't realize how much I was really hurting until the pain pill took the edge off... wow. that HURT.
I am hoping it will all be gone tomorrow... I'm going to go take a nice warm bath and then curl up in the bed.
Just wanted to complain... and I had been feeling SO good for a few days, too!!!
Thanks for listening...

Yah I have had people say the same thing...my lips start blending in with the rest of my already pale Irish skin and get sweaty too. Once it lets up a little it is almost like a body adrenaline let down. I hope you feel better soon Jen...you are always there with words of encouragement for me...try and have a good night.
Hugs,
Barb:thumbsup:

I think what happens to us when we give up and take pain medication is that we have a tendency to take the pain med, then try to relax and rest. The minute we try to relax, there's nothing to distract from the pain and we feel it even more until the pain med actually does its job.
I hope your tomorrow will be better.
Warm hugs,
Donna
I hope you are doing better today.:)

Hi everybody... thanks for all of the support! :) :) I am feeling a bit better so far this morning. My back is still sore, but in general the pain is much, much less than yesterday... :woohoo:
I plan to take it easy today anyway, and hopefully I'll be fine by tonight!!
Again, thanks for all the support... it's really nice to be able to come here and "see" all of you when I am feeling down

So sorry to come here this morning and find that you were in such agony, yesterday. Glad your hubby was once again "the hero". What a guy!!!!! Hope you continue to feel better throughout the day so your weekend is a good one.
Tried to e mail you yesterday but yahoo is having some major problems and would not let me in. Still the same today. Hubby says they must be having trouble with their server.:(
Get some rest and get better...:elvis:...just a little Memphis soul from one Memphian to another

Hey Kelly, thanks for checking. It is not as bad as yesterday, but I am still in mini-flare mode... a little burning in the urethra, and some pelvic and back pain. As is usual for my 2nd day of flaring, I feel really really bloated and crampy, as if I were about to get my period, but it's nowhere near that time of month for me... it's a typical flare, basically.
My hubby and I are going to go watch the school play at the high school he teaches at tonight... despite the flare I've decided to stick to the original plan and go. I'm going to take a Darvocet and a Pyridium before we go, and my hubby found a nice pillow to bring with us for me to sit on. :) I ordered a cushion from the ICN but it hasn't arrived yet, so hubby found this pillow he tried to use to stop snoring (i.e. it didn't work so it's been in the closet for a year now LOL :lmao: )... it's a special shape, but it turns out it is pretty good for sitting on during flares too :)
Oh, and I have an aisle seat... hubby was sweet enough to think I might need to pee during the production, so when he bought the tickets he got 2 next to the aisle so I wouldn't have to climb over anybody if I had to dash... LOL :lmao:
My hubby is still my hero... :)

Hi Jen,
Glad to hear you are feeling a little better. I have one of those cushions too and it really helps me. I use it at work and I am much more comfortable. I still make an effort to get up and walk around occassionally, and this helps too.
Take care,
Nicole
