Has anyone had any experience with Baclofen? It's a muscle relaxer intended for the muscle spasms of multiple sclerosis. I was prescribed 5mg three times a day, but I can only manage 5 mg at bedtime. It was working pretty well, but it makes me waaaaay too relaxed. Well, that and after month or so, it was making me depressed to the point of crying every day.

Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience.

I was given baclofen for muscle spasms in my legs and arms and it did work well for awhile but after time it no longer worked for me so I stopped taking it per my drs orders.

I actually LOVE it. I think it is a bit funny that you feel it because I would never of known I took it. I use it for breakthrough urgency. It is my first thing I try when my bladder hurts. It works really well for me. If that does not work I then take a pain pill.

Actually for me Baclofen had the least relaxing and least sedative effects of the several muscle relaxers I have tried...however, still I was only comfortable taking it at night. The sedative effects you are expereincing w/ Baclofen may very well go away with continued regular use, even if you use it only at night time. Please speak to your dr regarding the pros and cons of continuing with this med, as you very well might get too the point where you tolerate it much better and also get very good relief with continued use.

I much prefer low dose valium 2-5 mg used as a muscle relaxer because it does not make me drowsy nor does it cause many any other unwanted side effects, and for me of all the muscle relaxers I have tried low dose valium was absolutely the most effective, for me, anyway.

I have been taking Baclofen since May 2008. I take 10mg 3 x's a day. It seems to work best when I take it with my diazepam 2mg. It helps within 10 minutes when im spasming bad.

I didnt really notice much side effects. So its helped me some.

Hope it helps ya.
