i decided that i hate my life...i guess im just needing to vent but as i write this im crying as wel speak..i hate this bladder pain..it controls my life...i try and block it out and be normal but i cant..it makes me depressed literally always i long to be normal again...i miss doing all the things i used to do..i miss my sport,my modelling,my social life(carefree),my days where i could do anything..and now i feel trapped with this crap...I mean when you find the right treatment that works for you does every1 find relief and go bk and live somewhat a normal life..i mean in a lot of ways i feel selfish 4 complaining considering all i have is the vaginal and bladder spasms and burning pain..i dont even have urgency or frequency or half of the bad stuff that others on here have..and it just angers me that dr's arent more aware of this condition..i feel like most of them dont care...i hate my life

hi:hi:
I am really sorry things are so miserable for you right now. :kissing: We have all been where you are!! Please know that with DIET, the right dr(s), the right med or combo of meds and treatments, and drinking plenty of bottled spring water the vast majority of us DO get our lives back to pretty really normal!!! A lot of trial and error is involved, so hang in there for the ride to find what works for you...but bladder and vaginal spasms and burning are VERY treatable so there are things out there that could get these symptoms under control very quickly!! And get back more to your old self!! Really!! I experience the same symptom as you of bladder and vaginal spasms and burning and have a very simple med protocol that works very well for me as does avoiding my diet triggers.

Are you currently taking any meds? If so, could you list them and how long you've been taking them and how long you've had symptoms...if you don't mind:)...we can give you much better support and advice if you can tell us what meds and/or treatments you are doing now or have done in the past. Also, are you keeping well hydrated with water and have you started the IC elmination diet to help you determine what your food triggers may be???Burning bladder feelings are very often caused by food triggers and not drinking enough water.

There are so many treatment options and combos of treatment/med options that can help your symptoms....and the diet and drinking plenty of water is a great way to reduce that burning. Concentrated urine for MANY
of us causes burning...so very important to drink water regularly throughout the day.

Hope we can be of help to you, and the symptoms you describe can often be easily managed...with the right things!! I know this is a rough time but there is stuff that can help you lead a very normal life :flower:

i'm sorry that your having such a rough time! we've all been there and its ok! i'm young too (24 when diagnosed) and i remember thinking i am NOT going to spend the rest of my life like this! and the good news is MOST of us don't. no, not everyone gets better, but MOST people do fine things that help them live a very livable life. chances are that you will be like most people, but it may take some time :( i've been flaring the past two days so i've been in the depths of despair, but this isn't the norm for me anymore. hang in there!!! you can do it and when you do we will all be cheering our hearts out for you!!!

Briza is right. There is a good chance that, once you find the things that help, you have every chance of getting back to your life. It's okay that you are angry about having IC. We all are. It isn't fair that any of us have it. Don't give up on yourself. Keep looking for the right things that will help you.

I know exactly how you are feeling right now. I, too, thought my life was over. I, too, thought I would live the rest of my life in pain. But, you know what??? Once I discovered my diet triggers and found the right medication for me, I am living a pretty normal life. Oh, I do get the occasional flare, but they don't last long nor are they as bad as they were in the beginning.

The IC Diet is a very important tool in discovering what, if any, diet triggers you might have. Especailly with the bladder burn. Take a look at it. You can find the link to it in my signature.
