PLEASE note there are even recalls on DOG BISCUITS!!

GO to the above link and check it out....there are cases of very ill people, and even cases of death.

HI Rhonda I actually tried to go in and edit my post to add a few things...but was unable to, not sure why I use to be able to do this...

but I was wanting to add that even things that were made in a factory that may have peanuts around it...check out the site it lists a ton of foods, from pies to trader joe items, to crackers, to luna bars, nutrisystem...etc...very scary!!

But you are right stay clear of peanut foods, or even prepackaged foods, as it seems that it really is on premade foods....or foods within a box, convenience foods...etc..

I will be making my own peanut butter cookies! Jars of peanut butter are considered safe and we've been using out of the two jars I bought for quite some time with no problem.

Actually just of note, there are recalls on actual peanut butter jar ...you need to go to the website to check out the "BRANDS" that have been recalled.

THere are 100's if not thousands of food items on this list.

When you go to the site, click on Do's and Don'ts During the Peanut Salmonella Outbreak: FDAs Dr. Stephen Sundlof --- Dr. Sundlof says there are about 400 products recalled. He also says that the national brands of peanut butter are safe.

Well I must be a bit confuesd reading the list of items...as it does have PEANUT BUTTER THERE listed...brands like KING NUT , Boca Grande and there are others....but that is just to name a few....they do say peanut butter that they are recalling with these labels.....so this is what what I was referring to.

It is just the way I am reading it, it is stating peanut butter....so i guess you will have to go and read it to take with it your own precautions....
