Urologist ordered urodynamics testing for next Wednesday

Hi, I posted on the newly diagnosed message board but then saw this area. I have to have urodynamics testing done next Wednesday and wanted to talk to someone whose already been through this to know what to expect and is it uncomfortable - did it cause a flare up for any of you? I'm really scared and apprehensive about what's to come and would feel better if someone that's been through it kind of explain what it will feel like and how you felt afterwards.

Hi.
I had urodynamic testing done...What they do is fill your bladder with water- (atleast that is what I think it was) You let them know when it starts to get uncomfortable and when you can't hold it any longer.. then they measure capicity and pressure ... they fill you up once more and then they let you go in a toilet that has a container in it and measure it again.. It is a bit uncomfortable but one good thing it does not last long...I got mine done a year before I was actually dignosed with IC by a cysto-hydro..
I must be honest I did not enjoy it~:rolleyes: but they are quick!

i have had it done also its not a real big deal it may hurt your bladder some so make sure you take your pain medicine before you go. but in the long run its wroth it to make sure everything is okay.
