This isn't really IC related, but I need to ask and the only people i trust for answers on the computer is this site.
I was at my Uro this past week and she seems to be finding blood in my urine, this has been happening every time i go, i was playing it off as just getting over my period, because every time I go I usualy just ended or almost ended, but this past time she seemed to be concerned.
She is sending me for all the proper tests ( i was just doing some research online about it ) and i have to say, I am pretty scared. It seems it can be anything from an infection ( which would be great, if thats all it is ) to very serious conditions like cancer.
Now i have to just sit and wait to get these tests done and i refuse to let myself go crazy ( hard not to do ).
So i am just wondering if any of you have dealt with this and it turned out to be not very serious.

Thanks,
Tracey

I've had this happen too at different times. First time was at the bladder specialist and he said it was no big deal. It happens with IC. Each time it happened later on Uro never said anything to me. I'm not sure how I get the bleeding since I have no ulcers. My bladder looks fine and healthy. I know waiting for tests is hard and you try not to let your mind think the worse. I say why not get the tests done right then and there you know instead of making the person sit and wait. I too read all about the bleeding and had myself scared to my wits end. Try to think postitive. How long do you have to wait for the tests and what kind of tests are they?

Microscopic blood is pretty common with IC.

Search the front page of the IC Network for "microscopic blood" - you will get many "hits."

I get blood in my urine all the time because of my IC. Especially if I'm in a flare... sometimes it's so bad I can actually see the red blood in my urine in the toilet bowl. So it could just be a side effect of IC... make sure you are following the diet and good luck! Of course your doctor will know the best way to figure this all out :)

Like the others have said it CAN be normal to have blood in your urine with IC but only your dr can confirm if there is something more serious. Every time I have a urine test it has lots of blood.

I almost always have microscopic blood in my urine --- more if I'm flaring.
