Anyone have this happen? Going for barium enema, did anyone get a flare after one? I,ve been in a flare up and with all this extra water drinking, well let's just say the bill for toilet paper is on the rise again(ha,ha).

Some colons are extra "twisty" and can prove challenging to some doctors.

Be sure you go to a "top" gastroenterologist in your area -one at a research hospital.

It's can be difficult to pass the barium after an enema, but if you have a tendency towards constipation you doctor will probably prescribe something to help pass it.

Yes, I had this happen too. Had a bend in mine. She wanted me to do I think a lower GI but I wouldn't go back. Didn't like her but that's another story. I had an awful time trying to do number #2 after that because of that milk shake stuff I had to drink and it made the bladder so mad. It took 3 days before it all settled down.

Push extra fluids after the test to help that barium move along. While it didnt constipate me, it did slow things down a bit.

Like mentioned, perhaps your Dr will have suggestions if you're prone to constipation.

Wishing you well...
