diabetes and IC

I have diabetes--I cant have most "white" stuff--ie: potatoes, white bread things like that--I cant metabolize it. It breaks down to sugar. What can you suggest working the IC diet and diabeties? thanks Cathy

I'm not diabetic, but do have hypoglycemia, which means I need to keep my blood sugar under control. And I have two step-daughters who are diabetic; and my mother was also. The IC diet includes many protein foods and lots of vegetables, which should be safe for a diabetic.

I try to get most of my carbohydrates in the form of protein foods and it seems to work very well for me.

Hopefully others who have diabetes will respond.
