Wasn't really sure where to post this under. Have no clue what thread it goes with but.........
Went back to Uro today and we both acted like nothing happened. He was nice and not stinky and so was I . Did show him the article about the new pill for over active bladder due out this year. He hadn’t heard about it but said I don’t have over active bladder but IC and those pills aren’t really for it. He then said it would work the same as the other over active bladder pills I had tried before. Told him I don’t remember if I took any or not. He went looking through my Encyclopedia of a file and found out I never tried any of them so he let me try Detral LA. So far today I haven’t had any leaking. Not sure if it’s just one of those days for no leaking or the pill. Will say he is the only one who noticed I did my hair. Cut it, colored it all myself. He said it looked good. Maybe I’m just overly nutcase at the moment. I don’t know but now I have to get the nerve up to go to my GP since I have no more refills on the Vicodon.

I do hope the Dextrol does work for you. Leaking no fun, I can imagine.:(There are some IC patients who DO get relief from OAB meds for various symptoms, so hopefully you will be one of those and will be able to continue with Dextrol with success. :)
I know that you were probably nervous about this uro appt, since things didn't so good last time, but sounds like you both handled it very professionally and that should give you that extra bit of courage and strength for upcoming appt with GP. Just one good dr's appt sometimes is all it takes, I have found, to turn the tables and make my anxiety about visiting any dr much less stressful.
Take care!
Mary.... Great Job!:):):)

Been thinking. There is a lady doc at GP and I saw her once. She seemed nice so will make the appointment with her. Still will have to go past the one at the window and the nurses but that is how it will be. I'm just worried (I know this is stupid) I will catch the flu when I go. Last time I went there during flu season I caught it and passed it on to eveyone here. Is the flu season less catchy during February then January? I worry about it because my dad is elderly and if he caught it,it would be hard on him. was last time and that was at least 7 years ago. None of us get the flu shot.

Have no idea about flu statistics at this time. When I go to GP I always take a bottle of hand sanitizer with me in my purse and use it frequently (like before and after touching any doorknob or the reception desk surface:loco:and I a little around my lips and around the exterior of my nose and nostrils. :loco: I taught for many years, you know, and hand sanitizer is a teacher's best friend!!! Anyway, using it that way, not only on my hands frequently but also on and around my lips and nose GREATLY reduced my chances of catching the bugs that were going around. Yes, I was pretty maniacal about it, but using it that really did reduce my chances of picking up colds, flu, stomach bugs, pinkeye and all the other icky stuff common to classrooms and GPs' offices!!

Great Idea, Briza! Never thought about using it that way! Gonna have to try that myself! As Dolly Parton would say, "I catch everything but boys and money!"
Mary, seeing the other GP there sounds like a great solution! Dont worry about what the receptionist or anyone else there might think!! It is YOUR body, and YOUR money buying their services. If you dont like the service you are getting (or not getting), you have every right to find a new service provider, and it is nobody theres business except yours and your new Drs!
I also wanted to tell ya that I am really proud of you for going back to your Uro even though your last visit was rough. Anyone can have an off day, so I am glad you cut him some slack and decided to give it another go. And see what happened? Things turned out great after all! :woohoo: I am REALLY proud of you for stepping out of your comfort zone and trying again! You go girl! :)
Love ya lots,
Amaranthe
