I just have a question about the pyridium and contacts, my pharmacist said that it will stain the contacts orange so not to even wear them while taking the pyridium.

Anyone else encountered or heard of this? It seems a bit extreme. I know your urine goes very orange......but your eyes?

It does sound crazy, but its true!!...the orange stain (not a dye) comes from the active ingredient in Pyridium. The active ingredient is what makes Pyridium do its job. Anything that is excreted from your body will be orange....Urine is the most obvious, but even fecal matter, tears and sweat may be tinted orange. BTW: Don't workout while taking this....you can't sweat properly and your body will have not way of cooling itself.

I would follow your Pharmacist's advice and not wear them...1) because of the orange staining and 2) Pyridium just dries your body out, your contacts could get stuck to your eyeballs. :eek:

Yvette is correct. Your contacts could become very stained.
