View Full Version : UTA Medication
I was prescribed UTA for a bladder infection today. I've never heard of it until today. Has anyone heard of it? Is it okay to take when you have IC?
Thanks!

Hi Lori :hi:
For efficiency's sake on both your part and mine please click on the link posted below and it will give you all you ever wanted to know about UTA! :) Included in the thread that the link goes to, are several posts of mine and some by ICN member HistoryKat and one of HER posts includes a link to take you directly to UTA homepage.
Farther down in that thread you will see a long post of mine that includes much info about UTA and similar meds that are used not only when dealing with a UTI, but also for IC symptoms (some of the info in that particular post courtesy of ICN member Goldfinch).
So please, if you will, click on this link to find out a LOT about UTA and also meds that are very similar to it that many of us with IC take. Here's the link:

Hope it answers some if not all of your questions or concerns about UTA!:)
Thanks for the information! I actually did a search for the term UTA, and the search engine didn't pull up any threads or posts on this board.
I had been taking pyridium the past day, but it wasn't helping, so the doctor today gave me the UTA.

lol I just sent you a pm to alert you to my response...my computer doesn't always give me the pop up alert when I get a pm....anyway, glad you found my response promptly and again, hopefully it will be of some help!:)
I really do wish there were a forum here on ICN specifically devoted to these antispasmodic meds such as Pyridium, Pyridium Plus, Urelle, Utria-C, UTA, Prosed DS, Urispas, Hyoscamine (sp??) and similar meds, since at least one of these types of meds is very often an integral part of many IC patients' treatment regimen. Anyway, just an idea...if any of the support leaders or support volunteers or adminstrators see this post, maybe that will be taken into consideration, as there have been many questions lately about these types of meds showing up on many different forums on the board...would be nice if there were one forum devoted specifically to these class of meds so any info or experiences with them could be found easily in in just one place. Just an idea:)
