Hi all

I had my psych eval today for the SS application. It's the one who is hired by SS, but is supposed to be impartial? Nice guy, asked lots of questions, then had me do a very bonehead test on cognition. the questions were easy but I discovered I screwed up some of them (like, what floor are we on) and some subtraction problems that Ihad to remember some words he told me first. Then after I subtracted I had to repeat those words. I screwed that up royally. (Nice short term memory I have) He also asked me the meaning of some phrases "let a sleeping dog lie" and "shallow creeks make the most noise" I had fun trying to articulate the meaning of that second on. I think I said, "it means, stupid people yell the loudest" (Ok...so philosophy isn't my major) . Oh, and Ihad to tellhim a current news event. That was easy, I was just listening to the radio and they had been talking about Condeleeza Rice and having to give Public testimony.

I think I did ok. I saw him write that my speech was slow and slurred and that I had to keep moving around the room to get comfortable, and that I answered slowly and had to really think and ask him to repeat questions. Also that I had a driver, plus that I kept going pee and that I kept cramping....(he left the room for a sec and I peeked at his notes.) All that should help, right? It would hard for me to imagine anyone thinking I could work.

Well...next thing I should hear is either a denial or acceptance,eh?

Thanks, Tracey

I think it will work out fine for you. What he wrote down is a biggie in getting approved. I wish you luck and hope it goes well

thanks: I'm sure diggin' the new smiles:thumbsup:

I am wide awake with that damn left side pain again at 2:00 in the morning. Oh what fun....At least I'm seeing my gyno today for that. She did the original surgery, the pain is directly under the surgical site, and it just feels different from "normal" pain. Egads..I sure it's nothing like lots of adhesions because I'll have to have more abdominal surgery. Sure sucks to be me tonight.

Dixie, I know you have loto experiencein this area so I just hope you are right. I was dumb enough to make my through. Problem was, I wasn't even trying to be stupid. Dumb drugs.

Oh well...talk to you all tomorrow.

Thanks guys...I'm playing the waiting game now...trying to beat the odds on the first try...(UGH...I don't want to go through no more stinkin paperwork) Does it ever amaze you when people say stuff like "must be nice to stay home and get paid"? I know that they can't even begin to understand what it is but I just want to smack 'em. however, I always try to remember that I had no idea what the disabled went through in terms of trying to get money and depression prior to this. So I try to stay calm:pray: and just smile and tell them, "well, I ain't eating bon bons (or much else come to think of it:lmao:) I do a little education. I always llike the look in their eyes right before they fall over from boredom. :dizzy:

Anyway...now the wait.
