Question about Pyridium.......

I wear contact lenses and was told by my Pharmacist that the Pyridium can cause orange staining of the lenses and to take them out while using the pyridium.

Anyone else know anything about this? Is this just if you use alot of the pyridium? I hate wearing my glasses......so have not taken the pills yet.

I know....I know.....if the pain was bad enough I guess I would. :rolleyes:

I think I read that. I assumed it was if you got urine on your fingers, and touched your eyes. I wondered why, if people wash their hands, it wouldn't be a problem!

I would call your doctors office and ask what they want you to do ? My pharmacy told me the same thing but I dont wear contacts.

Pyridium does go through your entire system. If you're on it very long, it can cause temporary discoloration of the whites of your eyes. And it can also discolor your tears to some extent, which is what puts the stains on the contacts.
