One of my cats, Simba, has licked away a patch of hair on his underneath side. Its not to the skin, but you can tell where he has been licking.

I just had hubby do a comb thru to see if he has fleas. He doesnt. He gets regular treatment for that, so I didnt think that would be it. He's an indoor cat that gets to go outside for short amounts of time supervised every so often. (and in the winter, he doesnt like to go out cause of the cold)

Hubby did find dandruff. I want to try to make him feel better. We have a humidifier, so our house isnt that dry. He eats Iams dry cat food, so its a pretty good food. They get fresh water at least once a day. Both our cats like it cold from the refridgerator, so thats how we do it. My cat is allergic to seafood. He gets this bump on his lip if we give him anything with seafood in it. I had read somewhere that we should try to give him tuna, but no can do.

Im not sure what else to do? I know there are many cat people here so I thought I would see if any of yall had any suggestions. Thanks!:cat:

Ask your vet if it would be OK (and if so, the proper dosage) to give your cat an omega 3 supplement. Also salmon or olive oil on the cats food has been known to help too.

Either way, before trying either ask your cats vet for the OK first.

Iams is a good catfood, but your cat may have developed allergies to it. So that is another thing you could discuss w/ your dr. When my dog got skin allergies, first thing my vet asked is what brand/food. He recommended Lamb and Rice food and voila...within a week or two no more skin issues ever again. And it wasn't some partiucular or expensive food that helped...JUst good ole PUrina Lamb & Rice.Good luck, hope your kitty feels better soon!

I was just going to suggest talking to your vet about possible allergies. It sometimes takes time for an animal to develop an allergy and that does sound like a possibility.

Does the particular Iam's you are feeding Simba have seafood in the ingredients list?
