should I send papers about IC with my forms?
and if so what info would be good? like anything I could print of the ICnetwork?
even if not sending with the forms what are some things I should print out just in case?

SBP,
In my state, the medical determination part of the SS intake is sent to a state agency to do.
I would think it was appropriate to attach any and all reports or assessments that would help to "prove" your disability. You can look for these at your physician's offices, at the hospital record department where any procedures were done, etc. Your voiding diary, pain diary, symptom diary would also be helpful to attach.
I can't really say for sure how helpful attaching general information on IC will be. My guess is that they are more interested in your unique presentation of symptoms and how these symptoms prevent you from working.
Perhaps someone else can say if they attached generic info on IC to their SSA and what their outcome was- if they found it helpful or not.
Good Luck! Carla

well they told me my husband makes to much, although after paying the house, and utilities we have 200 left over a month for every thing else right now I have a bill for the clinic at over $300, but with only $200 to live on that goes to buying food, Gas, medicine, necessary stuff like light bulbs, toilet paper, pain meds shampoo Exc.... we literally have $10 dollars in the bank at the end of the month if even that, not to mention the clothes we need me and my hubby have not bought clothes for over a year now and we are both down to one pair of pants, and I need to go back to the doctor but I'm not going to there's no way to afford it. I feel so worthless because I can't do anything, I am looking in to at home jobs but I'm so afraid of getting scamed, and we need to go to the dentist, I have a tooth that part of it chipped out and it hurts to eat anything cold or hot... But that's not going to happen either, I have found some jobs that are a member of the BBB but is that if a for sure there not a scam? I am so depressed every thing feel's like a mountain to me, I'm so sick of crying but it's hard not to. Right now I have been out of elmiron for over two week's now and have not said anything to my husband because I know it would be better if we didn't bother affording them any more.
sorry I know no one really cares but I feel alittle better getting it all out. gee's now I just feel like I'm complaining to much...... I'm hopeless:( :hiding:

Did you actually apply for disability payments? If not, I would encourage you to do so. Many times agencies will discourage people from applying when they are actually eligible for some help.
You might also contact the drug company to get help with obtaining your elmiron.
Sending an encouraging hug,
Donna

First...don't think no one cares..we have been in your shoes or are there now. I know I went through a miserable period at the beginning of this illness, and even though my pain is still bad, and I"m unemployed,, I feel better supported.
second...the ss rep was talking about the program for low income. If you have had a job, you should have enough credits earned for you to qualify for SSDI....true, you are living very frugally and it seems incredibly unfair, but you do understand there are two programs...one doesn't depend upon income the other does....check again and make sure you have your info correct.
Please..remember we are all here for you. take care, and have a great day..

Well I for one do care! We or at least alot us are in the same boat. I have not been able to work for 8 months now and I have NO Income at all...nothing. The state is paying my medical bills and I pray I won't have to go on SSID. I am 50 years old and I live with my Mom. I had a great job with insurance and even with the insurance I ended up 40,000 dollars in medical debt My savings HA HA is gone and because I did live and work in a state that doesn't have state disability I am out of luck.
So sweetie I do know were you are coming from and I care.
When you need to Vent just do it....don't be sorry that you have, we all need to sometime and this is a good place to do it.
HUGS TO YOU JOY

Thank you every one, is so hard to not feel so alone I do realize there are a a lot of people going through what I'm going through and some worse off.
Well, the lady I talked to about getting my forms I told I needed to apply for disability and then the forms came and on the 14 of April I had an over the phone interview and the guy told me that I don't have enough working gredits to apply for ssdi, and then told me my husband makes to much for ssi. I would rather work any way no matter how bad off I am I know there are people who could use disability more then me, because I would be able to work at home. I have found a job I'm going to try when we can afford to start that if it really works would pay me 800 a month, I hope to do this I so can feel I'm really doing something.

Sparkle: You must be pretty young or haven't worked outside the home much. Even so, they usually drop the credit requirements (lower them) as you get progressively younger. At my age, I needed 40 credits (whatever the heck that means...I think quarters of work) and I was way above it. I'm still waiting to hear if I qualify for the disability. I don't qualify for the low income payments...Our family makes too much money. But I sure hate this waiting around stuff. Just let me know, Yes or No....I started in January (the process) and am still waiting, after a few weeks of "send this, go there, need that..." ugh.
Bless you for your attitude. Remember, again, you are not alone.
It's definately not an easy road to go, but you have some people who have walked it before, and will walk it with you.

As far as handicapped stickers go...I've been considering that as well...Most states you have to have a letter from your doctor, then take it to your DMV...
don't know about the other stuff...Sorry....:(

Don't give up hope on SSI if you need it. I'm on SSDI I'm not diagnosed with IC. But I'm on it for other reasons and now IC might be added to it.
Me and My husband both are on it.
We were told last time when i was trying to get mine. That alot of times SS office will tell people stuff to keep them from applying. Because if they think if someone don't come in after they tell them something then they didn't need it.
This is also why it takes 2 years to get your disability alot of times. They are hoping you give up and go back to work. If you stick it out they figure you most do need it.
I also was told i didn't have enough Credits for SSDI but i got it. Also most states your spouse can make up to $1000.00 before SSI will cut anything off from SSI Check. Unless you are both are on disability then they will cut back on the SSI check.
This may be different in your state.
Hope this helps some
Mel
