Hi there! I recently posted re: Interstim appt coming up and my pain mgmt doc feels strongly I could benefit from a hypogastric plexus block. I need to research this option but according to the doc. many women feel relief for a few months from "a relatively simple procedure." I've had "simple procedures" before that are anything but...so I would be interested to hear any experiences (good or bad) that IC patients have had with regard to this kind of block. Thanks again for your willingness to help!

Dear MindOverBladder -

According to my anesthesiologist husband, this is a block that is used to deal with stomach and pelvic pain. Do you have stomach pain?

Thanks Nancy. Nope, I have pelvic pain from IC & Endometriosis. The block would be for pelvic pain, not stomach related. Thanks for checking!

I have had this nerve block done by my pain management dr. I had it done for endo, IC, pelvic pain.
It is well worth a shot to try before any invasive surgeries!
Good luck!

Hi there

I am going to try a Pain Clinic for my severe neuropathic pelvic pain, for which nothing seems to be helping.

The Hypogastric Plexus Block sounds worth a shot, but am not sure if they do it in New Zealand.

I would like to see more posts and information on this Nerve Block.

Regards
