I am not officially dx with IC but I am diet sensitive, intercourse sensitive, but I have no pain. Just the Gotta Go feeling that makes me want to go bonkers. I was sick with the flu a couple of days ago and forgot that Ibuprofen wasn't the best option. So now, in a flare. Then feeling sorry for myself I went and got a butterscotch milkshake and get this, a Corn dog! Why why why! I think its cause I just want to be normal. When my bladder is ok, I can usually eat pretty much whatever I want except caffiene. But in a flareI should have known better. Please tell me I am not the only one who does this to myself. Anyway, I was given Celebrex today, have never taken it before. My gyn will give me pain pills but I had some old hydrocodones last time I saw him so I said I was ok with pain pills, well that was a year ago and when I call this time I get the 3rd degree from the nurse (and I don't blame her, its just sad that is how it is) Anyway so now its Celebrex. anyone else taking it for urgency, frequency? I told her I wanted something to relax the muscles, so I don't end up with PFD too, if I don't already have it!

Celebrex is an anti-inflammatory drug. It could help your IC symptoms, or it could make them worse, like ibuprofen does. I don't know how the dosage is on the pills, but if you can start out with the smallest dosage possible that would be the best thing for you to do in the beginning. I'd hate for you to get worse from the med instead of better. Please let us know how you're doing because I need a good anti-inflammatory for my knees and don't know what to ask for.

Good luck and I hope it helps!

Hugs, Sandy

Thanks, I took 200mg Celebrex today and I think I felt a little better. I did stay up til Midnight but was super tired. Not from the med I think just tired of this flare and to think I made it worse today by eating a bunch of naughty food.:tsk:

I find that if I am in a flare, it is best for me to just fast for the day and see how it goes. And I don't mean completely fast, just not alot of food and the food that I do eat is on the ok all of the time list. I also think it helps me mentally feel in charge of my body, but hey, whatever works!

I plan on taking it super east tomorrow. And pray I am doing a lot better on Friday.
