My first thought is to wonder if you have infection. I think it would be a good idea to have that checked.

Are you following an IC diet? avoiding sodas, coffee, juices? All can produce the burning.

He called -as I called him emergency--I cant stand this burning and pelvic pain and lower back pain--he said--its urethral syndrome--and its awful--he sympathzed with me and said how sorry he is, and that we are trying urocit-k and pyridium plus--(stuff knocks me on my behind)--but he said-"this is what urethral syndrome does"--he refuses to give me elmiron--he said bladder looks good and will NOT prescribe elmiron. its not an infection--been tested --I have strips for both infection and ph strips. I am soooo mad.. sorry to ramble--Cathy

I have had IC since 1969, but wasn't diagnosed until 2001! During that time, I was told it was all in my head, then years later, that it was just urethral syndrome. I received no treatment during this time. The doctors were wrong! It was always IC. Don't be like me, going all those years without a correct diagnosis. Have you had a hydro or a pelvic cat scan? Keep searching until you find out what causes your symptoms.

personally i dont trust those strips i bought at the drug store it will tell me no i dont have an infection when i do.

I do hope you get feeling better soon i'm so sorry you are in such awful pain.
