IC on Law & Order Last night

Hi everyone. My friend Nancy was watching Law and Order last night only to see a reference to IC & DMSO. This is what she said.

"I watched Law & Order Criminal Intent tonight. There was a scene where they Google DMSO and the character states that it was only approved for use in Interstitial Cystitis; then her boss said something to the effect of "for bladder infections". Kind of ticked me off that this misinformation is still out there. :("

I didn't see it but my father in law did....he was all excited for me and said they brought up my disease on TV and that it was just a bladder infection. I informed him they were messed up and screwed up in their info!!!!! I wish I could take a 10 day supply of pills and have it go away. I will write them a letter.

Actually Dixie, it was Decnie that wrote the letter that she printed on this board. But I also wrote to them as well. I told them how much I enjoyed their show (um...stretch of truth) but that they had a responsibility to dissemenate accurate info. I went on to describe my life as it is now, as compared to before. I also ended by saying I wish I could take a course of anti-biotics to relieve my symptoms but Ihave no bacteria. (prob WWWAYYY more than the reciever wanted to know but I'm not shy about it, especially when getting the info out)

Decnie also wrote a very good letter. Like I said, we should flood these guys so they have some awareness of what they did. Just be polite, and flatter 'em to start, then educate them politely.:toosh:

sorry tracey i should had put Decnie name when i said a good email. I knew it was hers but i was in a hurry but i'm also glad you wrote an email also.
i was nice to start off with my letter then i got to the point but i was still nice. knowone will listen to anyone who is rude i know i sure wouldnt want too if i ran an t.v show. I know they must get thousand of letters a day so hopefully if we get enough in there they will at least read a few of them.
just an idea change your email topic everytime each of you send one so it doesnt have ic in it and they send it to there spam box we want them to read these and understand these

I did some searching after reading the posts about the reference to DMSO and IC. For your letter writing and email purposes you might want to add the following information. The show was aired on March 28, 2004, it was on NBC's, Law & Order Criminal Intent, Episode 62, Prod.Code E4519 and the name of this episode was Conscience. This might make it easier for them to refer back to so they can look up the quote, etc. I am going to go back, now that I have more information and look at the episode in more depth too. I wish I could take 7 days of antibiotics and be rid of this stuff...and it would be "just and infection," and "if pigs could fly!"
