Usual dose of Dex for IC?

What is the usual starting dose of Dex for IC? My PM Dr will be starting me on this med the next visit. Do you need breakthrough pain meds or does this medication eliminate the need for pain meds? I am looking forward to starting this med and have high hopes after reading about it! If it helps me to lose weight and gives me energy that will be a plus also! Anyone on this have a thyroid problem? I am wondering if it is okay to take with Synthroid? How long till you noticed pain relief with this medication? Sorry so many questions!:angel:

I think it's different for everyone, but 15-20mg seems to be where it's effective... I would start at 5 or 10 and see how it goes, and raise 5mg at a time until you find something a dosage that helps. It's a trial-and-error process.
