Hi My first DMSO treatment was horrible I had to get my meds filled so I went to the pharmacy. I told the girl behind the counter sorry about the way I smelled I had just had a treatment I then wrote out my check the young girl behind the counter took my check did not ask for ID shoved the check in the register slamed the register closed and ran to the back of the pharmacy. I was so embarassed . so I take a few days off work when I have my treatment.:o

welcome to the icn i'm so sorry she treated you that way I could call and make a complant maybe even file one there is no reason for her to act that way! if there is any thing i can do for you let me know sending you hugs and prayers Rhonda.
Angela,
I have never had DSMO, but I understand there is a garlic ordor. Don't feel bad, if it helps you feel better that is a small price to pay. When you work with the public you will encounter all kinds of things and that young lady will be just fine.
As far as work goes, maybe you could schedule your treatment for late in the week if you have a Monday through Friday job, and then you wouldn't have to miss so much. :kissing:

I think maybe that clerk had other reasons for hurrying --- and many pharmacies don't ask for ID when someone is purchasing a prescription. I do know I smell some when I get a DMSO because I can taste it. I have a friend who uses DMSO (the over the counter stuff) for a muscle problem and while he does smell like garlic, someone who has eaten a lot of garlic smells much worse to me.
When I was working, I did arrange my instillations for Friday afternoons so I wouldn't smell to go to work.

Don't you just love smelling so much like an italian dinner! haha Don't feel bad, the odor isn't not too bad and it usually only lasts a day. My boyfriend used to take me to my DMSO treatments, because I can't drive home after those things! One time he took me home and it was burning, and stinging so bad, we hit every pothole on the way home and I just started to bawl! My boyfriend was like WOAH Hon! And rolled down his window, because the odor was pouring out of me! Made me cry more "I stink too!" I cried. Ahh the joys of IC. Keep your chin up! :hi:
