late periods????

Hi everyone!
I was just wondering and could be overreacting, but I usually get my period every 28 days and this month I still have not gotten it at 33 days. I took a pregnancy test just to be sure and negative(my husband got a vesatacomy sp), so I was alot relieved about that. I know cycles can change sometimes but I just wanted others opinions and experiences with this please.

Dear Formom -

It is very normal in your 30s or 40s to start having shorter or longer periods of time between periods. Some women have longer or shorter periods as well. Isn't it great being a woman LOL? My periods started changing when I was about 32 and there was a lot of variability with each one until I had a hysterectomy at 51.

Thanks Nancy! I have gone this long before but have been soo regular with the 28 days for awhile, so maybe it is just one of things I hope. I am turning the big "40" in April, so who knows! Your right, it is great being a woman:rolleyes:

It is funny you bring up periods....I actually am every 28 days too...and when my IC symptoms started....my periods actually went to 19 days...then 21 days...then 20...they actually shortened....I kind of figured this must have happened due to the stress my body was under with the ic.

SO my periods for the last two cycles have been 28, 29, so I seem to be getting back on track....

I think if our bodies are under any stress, or something different going on in our lives...whether it be hormones...or environment...etc...our periods are effected...
