Hello everyone!
I am a newly diagnosed patient with IC. I have been having bladder problem for more than six weeks (I usually go to the bathroom at least 20 times at day time and 10 times at night). After eliminating all the other possibilities, my urologist finally diagnosed me two weeks ago, saying that I had chronic inflammation/inflection on the bladder neck. I currently live and work in Germany and sometimes it is a bit frustrating to communicate with German doctors as I don't speak much German. Anyhow, my doctor put me on Gepan Instill and I have had the instillation twice in the past two weeks. I am supposed to do it once a week for six weeks and then once a month for six months. But so far there hasn't been any improvement with my bladder. I am a social scientist which means I have to attend a lot of seminars and presentations etc.. Even more, I have been offered a lecturing job at a university and I really don't know how I am going to cope with all these symptoms. But I am so happy to have found this forum where I have realized that I do need to watch my diet!! When I asked my doctor whether I should be careful about what I eat and what I drink, he just simply said 'NO', 'just have enough fluid intake, even if it is coffee'!!!!!! How naive a doctor could be sometimes!!
Anyhow, I am truly truly happy that I have found you here. My question is: Have anyone ever used Gepan Instill and did it ever work for you? If yes, how long did it take before you actually start to see the good effect?
