Pharmacy OUT of Elmiron!

Hmmph. I just went to my handy neighborhood Walgreens (where I fill all my scripts) to refill my Elmiron for the next 3 months. And they were pretty much OUT!! They gave me a 5 day supply and I have to go back in a few days for more.

I guess it just strikes me as very odd that they are out... Elmiron is prescribed ONLY for IC, so this must mean there are A LOT of IC patients in my neighborhood (other than me... cuz I've only been on Elmiron 1 month so far, so I doubt I ate up their whole supply :) )

My husband, who loves any type of conspiracy theory, keeps joking that there must be some kind of poison in the soil or the water in our neighborhood that is giving all the residents IC.... LOL :lmao:

Ok, it was just odd that they were out... just wanted to share a weird story... I'll let you all know if I meet any other IC patients while walking the dog in the neighborhood ;)

hmmm, possibly you do meet others with IC...who knows. One possible reason they were out though could be that they order very little if it isn't being used much in your area...

Anyway...I hope they have plenty later....I know I go nuts when I miss an elmiron...because I know the flare that will happen in the future because of it.

Yea that is odd maybe they just didn't order it in time. I have never went to the drug store when i was on elimron and they was out. WOW.

Well it must be a TN thing. Cause that happened to me....ohh..3 years ago, @ the same place, different town.:p
They gave me a few days supply but said an order was coming in the very next day.:confused:
I should've asked if they sold alot of it or didn't have to order it very often.
Prolly a mishap for those who do their advanced ordering...:rolleyes:

Many pharmacies don't stock items that they sell very little of. I know when I took elmiron, I had to call my pharmacy a few days ahead of time for the refill so they'd have it available. It was the same with heparin --- they just didn't stock it because it moved so slowly.

Its a NY thing too! We went to walmart to fill My Elmiron last Thursday they had 1 pill ! 1 freakin pill lol! I thought WOW lots of people must have IC and I just have not meet them yet . They were out the urised too! It makes sense now like Rhonda said if its not used alot they probably dont keep as much in stock. Or else lots of peeps are just hiding from me cause I have not meet one person that ever heard of IC or knows what it is ??? Everyone says hunnnn what did you say never heard of that ?

You guys are all probably right that my Walgreens doesn't stock much Elmiron at one time. Maybe next time I will do as Donna did and call ahead to make sure they either have it or can get it.

Well, at least they gave me 15 of them until more come in... Kelly, that's amazing that they only had 1 pill at your pharmacy... LOL :lmao:
