Every month, I turn into a monster!!! I have major mood swings and cry obessivley and have no control over what I say or how I act. I feel like a nut job. I made an appt with my gyno for the end of the month however does anyone have any natural remedies or vitamins or something to help me? My poor bf, he's gotta deal with me taking everything out on him and its not fair. I pre-warn people around me not to even try to mess with me b/c there is no winning when crazy rachel is out! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE any suggestions would help.

I'm on lo-ovral and have tried alot of other contraceptives that said would help but didn't.

Not to mention the stress of christmas season! I'm like the ultimate scruge!!!!

there is some reasearch to show taking prozac just for a few days before your peroid and the first couple days of your peroid can help.

What you describe seems a sever Pre-menstrual syndrome, and it is called Premestrual dysphoric disorder or PMDD:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Premenstrual_dysphoric_disorder

Some cure this with SSRi antidepressants, like Celexa (Citalopram).. Try discussing the matter with your doctor.

Good luck!

Every month, at least a week before I start my period, I am so irritable that it is frustrating...not to mention my boobs are so sore my shirt even causes discomfort, and cramps that start even before my period. My doctor thought I might have endometriosis in addition to IC, but my recent lap found no endo. I am taking Lexapro which helps a lot with my PMS mood...I still get irritable, but not as bad as before. Just know that you are not alone in this. If anyone finds something else that helps, I am all ears too!
