Has anybody tried oral hyaluronic acid for their IC? I see that it is a component of cystoprotek, the theory being that it is another substance that may provide bladder coating. Currently, I'm doing daily heparin instills
for that purpose, but the price of heparin has really shot up this year. I know
there is some concern about the poor absorption of hyaluronic acid when
given orally, so companies have made low-weight products which are better absorbed, but I'm not sure if these have proven to be as effective as the
larger molecule when directly instilled. I tried oral and instilled Elmiron but
had side-effects to both routes. Appreciate any feedback.
