:confused:I was having success with Elmiron, however, I develiped shortness of breath, and was having difficulty with even minor tasks. My urologist suggested that I stop Elmiron and see how I did.
I could not go back to that awful pain. I am trying instills, however my first one resulted in a bladder infection. I also just found out that my insurance company which I just joined doesn't cover pre-existing conditions, though it is with a large company.
Everything now is looking grim. Hope tomorrow is better

I just hope it's not the elmiron that's the problem.
And it's not surprising to know a company doesn't cover pre-existing conditions. About the only way you can get coverage for a pre-existing thing is through a group insurance or Medicaid or Medicare.
It's one of the really bad things about insurance.

won't they cover you on the pre -exisiting illness after 6 months on a group company policy. Pretty sure you could be safe due to the group policy. Call your HR benefit person. I changed hospitals with IC and had to wait 6 months. Good Luck. Are you on group or individual policy? I just had consultation with insurance health agent last week. If it is insurance out on your own individual and you have ic yes your right . Agent told me very few insurance companies will take you on individual policy with IC unless on like work group policy. The only company he here for me in MIchigan and it varies state to state that would even cover me and I have not filed yet is BCBS. Vicky

I was not able to take the oral Elmiron either. You can maybe try the cystoprotek - it does seem to help me. It isn't that noticeable of an improvement, but when I run out, I get worse. You can buy it through the website here. Hope this helps.
