Hello-
I'm in yet another flare...it was my own fault...I had some chocolate on the way home from the grocery store and didn't take any prelief before hand. I'm on fentynl transdermal patches for daily pain, but I'm having break through pain. I can't imagine how I would be feeling if I didn't have the patch.
Anyway, my question is...does anyone get muscle/joint pain when you are in a flare? My whole body is aching and my joints are very sore. I've been sleeping anywhere between 10-12 hours a night and still am exhausted.
Help!

I have never had that, but maybe others have. You should check with your Dr. if this is something new and if it continues. Hope you are doing better soon.:)

Jolene is right. If this is a new symptom, you need to discuss it with your doctor.
Sending healing thoughts,

Yes, I have joint pain and it seems to be getting worse. It's in my hands, feet and back. I'm also really bloated now, possibly from a salt binge which I never eat. The cysto-protek could help a lot bc of the msm and other ingrdients for joint pain. I think I'll start soon, many ic'ers find great relief for a multitude of ailments.
I'm only 47 and feel like my body is going down hilll, fasssstt. Like you I sleep a lot and take a lot of meds. When I think I feel better and back off the meds its major flare. This is very depressing for me. Oh well, life goes on and I will beat this illness. I will get my old life back and in turn be able to do all the activites I used to. Living by myself it's so easy to isolate, haven't been able to work for a yr. and so miss my life before ic. Sure can't drive all doped up so I have to plan my outings so as not to take meds.

I have a lot of joint pain....and am on lots of meds and am very tired. I think the joint and musscle pain is from gas...I have a lot of difficulty getting rid of the gas and have no good reason for it to be in me...but it is.
Personally wishing for magic to fix it.
Take Care,
Ginny

I get joint and muscle pain which gets worse during a flare. You need to talk to your doctor to rule out lupus or fibromyalgia.

I also have a lot of muscle pain, almost like I have the flu. While my joints do hurt, it is more my muscles. I also sleep alot, and wake up tired when I am like this. I seem to flare more easily when I am like this. I don't take alot of medicines. I just started Elmiron, and I know it is not the cause, I have been doing this ever since I developed full blown IC about 6 years ago.

I have been told by my doctor that they are starting to look at IC & Fibromyalgia as one illness. I have to agree totally. I have a 20 yr history and I know for sure that when one flares the other does also.
Fibro makes you very tired. Even after sleeping.

That is why it is always good to discuss new symptoms with your Dr. I have never had joint pain with my IC and I have been diagnosed for 29 years now.
I think there are many aspects of IC that are unknown and from what I have read, I think there could end up being more than one cause and therefore different symptoms for different people.
I hope you are all doing better soon.:kissing:

I too seem to have a lot of joint pain. When I'm in a flare, it seems like the sides of my hands, below my pinkies are really tender- weird.
