I saw a little kitty about a month ago at the Pet Store that are on display from the Humane Society, and of course I fell in love with this little kitty. His name is Aztec, and he is a silver grey Tabby. The crux is is that I just adopted a kitten back in April 2008, and I already had two other kitties, and a dog. I have to know there is a limit, but I am so in love with this kitty. He is so loveable. He has been there for two months now and he's six months old. The last kitten I adopted (Abbey Road) ended up bringing the rhinotracheitis virus (cat cold) into my house that still lingers, and almost killed all of my kitties so it was very stressful. All of them are fine now except Soby who still sneezes every now and again. Aztec is healthy though. I just love this little guy, and I can't get him out of my head. I've called twice to see if he's adopted yet, and both times he was still there. They can't understand why either as he is a lover!!!! Somebody please knock some sense into me!!!!!!!!

Still thinking about it. I must be crazy. Hopefully tomorrow he will be gone to a good home.

If you can afford another pet -- and no one in your home has any objections about having another cat around --- then I say: go for it!

Oh my husbands objecting alright. He says if Aztec moves in he moves out!!!! He's kidding of course, but I think he really doesn't want anymore. Ya affording it's another issue too. I wish he wouldn't have pulled my heart strings so bad.
I love your doglet!!! Sooo cute!!!

I know the feeling. I've had to stop looking at adoptable pets when I'm in Petsmart, and I no longer peruse Petfinder.com.
If your husband truly objects, I would let it go. (((Hugs)))
Thanks for your compliment on little Tucker. I found him ---you'll never guess where --- on Petfinder!!! :lmao:

Glass...wish I had some words of wisdom. I'm a major sucker for animals from the shelter, too. ANY animal from where ever really lol! :)
But rationally I do know my household has its limits, so I have put a self-imposed restriction on myself and for the time being I am NOT allowed to go to the shelter.

He's still there because YOU haven't gone and picked him up yet, silly! You have three kitty babies already, what's one more? Get your shoes on and go bring that baby home!
Oh- wait, was I supposed to talk you OUT of it? Oooops- my bad. :loco:

I am with Missy on this one! I mean seriously, what IS the differance between 3 kitties and 4? Besides, it sounds like he is just sitting there waiting for you to briing him home to be with the rest of his family! :cat: (You know you are gonna do it! LOL!) So, why not go on down there tomorrow that way he can be home in time (and calmed down enough by then) to enjoy Thanksgiving with the rest of the family! :)
Sorry I couldnt talk ya outta this one either! But, if you REALLY want to be talked out of it, then think of how jealous your other babies will be, (and how angry the REALLY big baby of yours will be!) You may even have to rename him some other Indian name. (Anyone know the Indian name for "sleeps with Mom cuz Dad's mad and sleeping on the couch"? :biglaugh:
But, if you DO decide to bring him home, you DO know the other kitties will get over their jealousy and love him as much as you (and eventually your DH) will come to love him! So, I hope you give in to your heart and bring him home. Be sure and post the pics of him surrounded by his new family! :smile tee

awwww, this is a sad situation! and a hard decision to make! if you and you husband have decided that another kitty isn't an option for you right now, maybe it would make you feel better if you helped get him adopted. maybe make fliers or an ad in a paper. just some thoughts. good luck!!

Have you thought about fostering him? That way you can have him in your house till he gets a new home. Then maybe in the process soften your husband up to him lol. So he can see what a sweet boy he is. Then if you cant keep him you still get to help find him a new home.

Okay the worst part is I have to go to the store where he is to pick up cat and dog food. My babies eat Eagle Pack food, and it's the only place that sells it around here. The Humane Society is open until 5:00pm today. Maybe I should send my hubby in to pick of the food!!! There is no way I could foster him as I wouldn't let him go once he was in my keep. Funny thing is is that my babies are being brats this morning getting into everything. I was looking at my oldest cat last night lying on her back so relaxed and thought I just can't do it to her. She hates all other cats, but tolerates them well. Craig says in a year from now they'll be another kitty that catches my eye and we'll be going through it all over again!!! He is too funny!!!
