I just read that IC'ers shouldn't use ibuprofen. Why is that? What does it do? Is acetamenophin OK?

Some ICers can take ibuprofen with no problem. I can't because it causes me to have really bad stomach pain. If you decide to try it, be sure to check with your doctor to be sure it's okay with any other medications you are taking.

Warm healing thoughts,

Ibuprofen is awful for me. It has, in the past, put me into a terrible flare. My bladder just burns, like putting my hand on a hot element. I take acetamenaphine (sorry about the spelling!) that is in the empracet that I take for the pain. I have no problems with it.
Good luck!

Both Advil & Tylenol make my bladder burn. I use Migraine Ice patches on my forehead or the back of my neck or a cold cloth over my eyes when I get a headache and ice pack or heat patch when my bladder hurts.

I might try Prelief with Tylenol the next time though. Haven't tried it yet, anyone tried that?

I noticed in their brochure they say that it is acidic, so the Prelief might help?? Dunno....

I can't tolerate anything oral but ibuprofen is saving my bacon! It's the one thing I can take although it causes horrendous fluid retention in my case, it's worth it. I take 800mg. at bedtime and 400-800mg. during the day once or twice as needed.

It is very acidic. The prelief supplement brochure recommends taking 2 prelief if you need to take ibuprofen.
