I had an appointment for the 29th of this month with my URO. I called today due to pain way beyond my control nothing is helping. I believe I have another UTI. Doctor isn't able to see me today and needs to re- schedule the appointment I have for the the 29th to the end of next month!! I have already been waiting for 6 weeks as it is. however they sent me to the lab for an UA to see if I have another UTI and call in meds for me .
I was in ER last thursday with another diverticulitis attack. They put me on cipro and flaggl both of which are really hard on my bladder. I am waiting to see URO so he and my surgeon can get together so that while I am having the surgery on the resection of my intestine they can re-suspend my bladder for the second time in 3 years.
If I could just find away to relieve the pain even 50% I could deal with life in general.
I haven't been able to work for 6 months and if I can't control this pain I don't see employment any time soon.
I thank God for my family without them I don't know what I would do.
Thank you all for letting me blow off some steam.
I have only been pain free 8 days in the last 14 month.
Hanging on tight but the rope is starting to fray!

Joy,
I can't think of much advice here except to be persisent and try to make sure they help you stay ahead of the pain. I find I have much better pain management with my primary Dr and he is happy to monitor this facet of IC and the issues that go along with it...I wish you some resolution and a successful surgery soon.
Where pain seems to be your biggest complaint right now with valid resons, I would push the issue, especially where they can't see you for quite some time. don't be afraid to speak up.
Good luck with everything! :hi:

Joy,
I hope you can find some pain relief soon. I know that diverticulitis is rough stuff. (Father-in-law had it for a while).
I have taken the flagyl myself. It seemed to bother my IBS more than the IC.
You do need to find someone who'll listen to you about your body. No one deserves to be in pain. Especially as long as you've suffered. No one else can stand up for your body but you..
Would making a trip to the er tonight help with the uti dx?
I pray you feel better soon.... :kissing:

has your doctor gave you anything for pain??? you have rights as a patient in pain and have a right to be treated.
i have alot of uti's that are poss. normally i have them a week before my peroid:confused: i we still can't figure that one out but my doctor and I am working together to try to find the answer to that question he still goes to duke to learn new things on ic in my op. he is the best ic doctor in my area.:) he really takes ic serious. he has also told me i have made the most progress then any of his ic pat. since i'm one of them who has chornic ic (am i spelling that right?) the dmso has helped me alot the first ones i done in the office felt like they was killing my bladder but after a year passed he asked me again to start them at home this time i agree. i was still in alot of pain for a while i was taking perocet 10 like candy still no pain relief until after i had a ivp one day i was having alot of back pain come to find out it was coming from the ic also. the rn she is a sweetheart her name is Jeri. said Rhonda there is a new report out that says you can use the heparin and marcaine up to three times a day as needed and its safe so i started this but the my doctor did not agree with this it was a chance i was to take on my own i agree well it worked for me with puzzlement from the doctor but he agree to give me the medicine i needed to keep this up if it was helping me he wasnt going to stop me from doing it there was no proof saying it was dangerous. he has also asked me to speak to some new ic pat. he has at first i didn't want to i asked him to tell them about the site here i find it easier to talk to people this way but since i have my pain some what under control my nerves are also getting better and i do believe when i go back in april i'm going to asked him to set it up. I do want so much to help other people
sorry here i go rambleing again i'm bad at that.
but if you would like to talk to me please email me my address is at the bottom of this page.

I am very familiar with that feeling...if it anit one thing it is another....that is me. Sorry you have theese problems....hope you and your doc can find a way for you to feel better. I have more luck with my primary doc too...many of my specialist want him to be the one in charge because too many specialist can mean the big picture of my health isn't being payed attention too...some of them try to work with him well....I hope you can find docs that talk to each other like that.
Anyway....I hope you find relief.
hugs,
I will definitely pray for you. :kissing: Sounds like your plate is more than full with medical issues. I hope you find some relief soon.

Bless your heart, Sweetie. Suffering is all consuming, and it is good that you are reaching out to those who are in the know. Prayer is powerful, and God does hear and answer. Grams has had ibs & ic for many years, and tried meds, alternative meds, and chiropractors, etc. Am now using a combination of antoxidants, minerals, calcium, etc. and am getting help through them. Each patient's response is different.
Many here are in your bacony section cheering you on. Don't give up. Love and prayerhugs, Grams
