My husband, being unhappy with my mood swings, bought me a mood ring
the other day so he would be able to monitor my moods.
We've discovered that when I'm in a good mood, it turns green. When
I'm in a bad mood, it leaves a big frickin red mark on his forehead.
Maybe next time he'll buy me a diamond. Dumb a$$.

Is this a real story by you or a made up one? I lost my mood run (not run--ring...mood run is when you jog over the back of the persons back who is in your way in front of you or you nicely say beep beep and go around) looooooooong ago and have been wanting to get another one so bad but they don't sell them in stores anymore or do they? If this is your story "WHERE DID HE FIND THE MOOD RING?" Does this show my age or what?

LOL no, it's not a true story but could be...my ex got me a set of knives our first Christmas...imagine the red marks those could have made had I not been in a good mood!:lmao:
Don't know where you could find a mood ring these days...there is a store called Spencers at some shopping malls that sells black lights and stuff like that...that's the only place that comes to mind...you're not plannning on planting it on someone's forehead, are ya?

Mary,
I checked ebay and found some mood rings.
I bet some of the young members of this support group have never heard of mood rings. Kinda tells our age if we remember them.

I have a mood ring on right now! One of the families at our church were giving them as prizes at oru Fall Festival. It's not like my "real" mood ring I had in the 70s! It's just a band, but it does change colors. Right now I must be in between moods because it is showing different colors all over.
I do in fact still have my "real" mood ring that I screamed and had a fit for when I was about 10.

ha ha I don't have mine anymore, but very clearly remember the fit I threw to get one, along with a pet rock :biglaugh: Don't know where the pet rock is either but hope that it found a home that took such loving care of it like I did.
So T83, do you feel that your mood ring is an adequate guage for your mood(s)? How does DH feel about its accuracy? :biglaugh: Maybe the technology behind them has improved since we all had them back then lol! If so, then I'm all in for getting one.

LOL....little did our parents know what affordable, well-behaved, self-entertaining kids we were...we definitely earned and deserved those rocks and mood rings for as much as they kept us out of their hair! So no guilty conscience about those fits we threw!:)

Briza, I have a few of them, I will be sure to send one your way if you want!
Believe me...Hubby doesn't have to have a mood ring to figure out what kind of mood I am in! He sometimes won't dare to get that close! LOL!
You are so right Bri! How much did a mood ring cost??? Maybe $2.00, which by the way I did have to pay back in chores.
I remember having a pet rock, but my brother and I had to share it.

You can find mood rings in most of the teenage-type stores in the mall. :)
I too had one, along with a pet rock and jumping beans...haha..I fear though that if I had a mood ring now it would be permanently blacked out.:tsk:

Yep, that's my worry, too! So probably best if Claredale can spare a diamond for me rather than a mood ring. Expensive sparkly things are ALWAYS guaranteed to improve a woman's mood!

yeah, I know your hubby knows you VERY well :lmao: If only we all had hubby's so sensitive to our moods...not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing.
I too had to share my pet rock with my sibling. That made absolutely NO sense to me, since all of the living breathing pets at home were always 100% mine. I wonder what that says about my sibling? lol

Dear Mary,
I guess all we can say is that we are all about +/- 40 yrs old! :help:and probably even more moody now than when we were kids!:lmao:

If you ask my husband about my moods he will probably tell you he can't tell the difference one way or the other- so he just says I'm moody all the time....of course, I'll not say here what I would say in person about him.
but yes, looking here we are all probably in our mid fortys or older.

Mary, that's probably true about us all being about the same age. I do love to hear from the younger generation too because things are so different! I was thinking the other day when I was in Target and couldn't find my husband. Normally I would just call him and find out where he was. I actually had to look up and down aisles looking for him. It was truly an inconvienence.

I know I will sometimes hear what my son's and their friends say, its unbelievable...the slang they use- some of it I'm familiar with but there is a lot of stuff I'm not. But then again, when my husband and i talk about things in the pass and they are around they just look at us and wonder what that is about.
