I get the exact same pain, and ouch, does it hurt!:frown: I asked my Urologist if it was common with IC and he said that it isn't unusual, but not that common. I hope the flare goes away soon!

Yes. I actually have felt that. It is a weird feeling down there that I get when my flare is at its worst.

Yes, I also experience a kind of orgasmic spasming feeling. Unfortunately, it's unpleasant.:( I've never asked my doctor about it because, well I don't know why. I just assumed it was part of the IC. I also get spasms in my uretha and thought maybe that was the cause.

Hi, I get that too. My dr. said something about that being a trigger point. I think that has to do with referred pain. When you have nerve pain in the bladder you can feel it in other places, like your back, etc. It made sense to me. I hope you all feel better :) Grace
Hi,
I've had this sensation. It just about drove me crazy! It's still shows up sometimes, but what helped me was an estregen creme (vagifem). I kept telling my uro about this sensation and he had no idea what might be causing it, so I went to see my gyno and he said I had some atrophey, (I had a hysteretomy and kept my ovaries--they are working but for some reason those tissues are thinning out!)and prescribed that. Things have greatly improved for me since then.
I use that along with Elmiron, & Ditropan Xl.
I hope you find something that works for you. I'm sure you will.:grouphug:

A German doctor told me that this could be linked with an injury of the pudendal nerve : did someone ever heard of it ?

I have that pain sometimes also. It helps me to soak in a hot bath when that happens.

Welcome Severine!!
For me, it's this uncomfortable throbbing in the clitoral area that goes along with a flare. I agree, it's a bummer that it is an unpleasant experience.:cat:

Severine,
You posted this a while ago. Don't know if you're still looking for info. I have been diagnosed with pudendal nerve something-or-other. There is a branch of the nerve that goes to the side of the clitoris. There is one on each side. For me it has been a thin burning line on the left side. The nerve branches to other areas, also. You have probably found this on the net already. The Nantes France location would be the closest to you for treatment.

I have only suffered similar to this a few weeks ago ironically i had a flare after this but it was more of a "twitching sensation almost as if in some kind of spasm and really unearving!! like a pulling up sensation to the left of my frontal parts, it came and went but i did have an infec too!!

Oh my gosh, I am so glad I stumbled upon this thread! I get that pain and have always been to embarrassed to bring it up to the doc...I have V.V. but I figured this isn't it because V.V. pain is in a different spot. Thanks for having the guts to ask this, I sure didn't have them! ;)

Hi Severine! Have never had that kind of pain with my IC, but it sounds very uncomfortable. A call to your doc may help, I hope youu feel better soon. I also wanted to say Wecome to the ICN...there are SOOOO many wonderful people here who are always willing to share their experiences, and give support. Best of luck to you, and I hope you will post soon so we know how you are doing...by the way, you are very pretty! All the best, Sheri G

What a relief to hear I'm not the only one having peculiar goings on in my clitoris. I have not had severe pain, just mild pain and then a pulsating sensation there too. Isn't this bizarre?

Here is a link about the Pudential nerve. It's very interesting and might explain some of the strange sensations we get. http://www.spuninfo.org/index.htm

Sometimes I have a sore feeling in the clitoris but when I flare or other times, it is a burning sensation in that region that is constantly annoying.

Oh yeah, 3 urologist didn't know what was causing this. A urogynochologist thought it could be from pelvic floor muscles.
