My potassium levels are a bit low so my doc. has put me on potassium Chloride. I've been on them a little over a week now and have noticed my IC pain level has increased.

I'm wondering if others have taken this supplement and what if any reactions you've had.

Also, if I'm not able to tolerate the potassium chloride...could I maybe switch to potassium citrate or some other form of potassium? Are there other forms of potassium that are better tolerated by IC patients?

I will ask my doc. if my pain level does not go back down...but thought I'd get some input from here as well. Thanks!!

Potassium chloride is a major trigger for IC - in fact, doctors will instill it in your bladder to test for IC. I hope this doctor isn't a urologist!!!

I take a Potassium 99mg Supplement nearly every day. The ingredients are: Potassium Gluconate, Stearic Acid, Hypromellose, Magnesium Stearate, Polyethylene Glycol. The label also says: No Gluten, No Lactose, No Preservative, No Artificial Color, No Artificial Flavor.

I take potassium citrate, it is supposed to alkanize your urine. I used to wake up around 4:30-5pm with a burning in my bladder (every night). They say your urine is most acidic then. I have noticed that since I have started taking it the burning is gone.
