:confused:Well I decided to stop the Vesicare because I was retaining and also had alot of hesitation trying to urinate. You know I thought it was working for a while and the Urologist said that it does not work with people that have IC. I guess he was right in my case.
Anyways I have been flaring badly. I am seeing a new Dr. the Chief Urogynecologist out of a Boston Hospital on Nov. 13th. He specializes in IC and hopefully he will get a plan in place unlike the Urologist. The Urologist said that I had inflammation in my bladder when he did the scope in his office, and told me to take Advil for 10 days to get rid off it. He wants to folllow up in 3 months and he does'nt want to do any other tests on me right now. I can't wait so I thought a 2nd opinion would be good. I also have vestibulitis so my Primary thought it would be a good idea to see the Urogynecologist. I am hoping this Dr. Dr. does the cystascope under anethestia so maybe I can have a diagnosis. I am just so frustrated! I guess I will just take Vicoden until then.

Elaine,

You sound just like me a few months ago. Thank God I went to a local support group and met a wonderful nurse, that everyone calls their Angel, she helped me so much. I had all the tests and everything came back negative but I kept having the pain. I live in a small community and we have one office with 4 different URO's. I went to one and he was nice but did the cystoscope and said it looked fine and gave me detrol la and vesicare. They both gave me headaches, blurred vision, contipation and the last straw was severe stomach pains. They helped with the frequency and urgency but not the pain. I stopped the vesicare and went to this meeting. The nurse called Barb, told me to give her a call. She works at the same office as the 4 drs. She changed me to a different Dr and she did the puf questionare and PST test on me and they both showed me positive. She put me on prosed Ds, Elmiron ( which I am going to use cystroproteck first to see if it will work because Elmiron is so expensive) valium suppositories and vicodin. I feel sooooooooo relieved because she is the first in a series of medical people to actually listen to me. If you have a Dr that specializes in IC I would go to him first and see what he says.

Good Luck and God Bless
