After calling my dr. yesterday to clarify some things, he told me that yes even though I don't really have any bad symptoms right now I should take something that helps the coating of the bladder (restores GAGS) or it will shrink or something like that, can't remember right now.
He then said only two things have been clinically proven to help restore the coating of the bladder: Elmiron and Heparin. The reason he did not mention the Aloe Pills and CystoProtek was because they were not clinically proven and could not really recommend them but if I wanted to try them that was fine and my decision.
So since I cannot afford Elmiron I started checking on prices of Heparin and it is affordable but I would like to hear more information from ppl that have actually used Heparin like:
what dose did you use
frequency of the instills
how you think it worked for you
just general thoughts
He is recommending I do instills every other day of 10,000units/ml.
I actually really want to try Aloe or CystoProtek before doing the Heparin, because hey who wants to do the instills right? But if they haven't been clinically proven to help restore the lining then I feel I would be taking it in vain and my bladder would not be helped. But again I would like to hear other comments on those treatments as well. Thanks!
