I am going to a new doctor in two weeks, and I have been told that he specializes in IC, so we will see how he is, keep your fingers crossed!

Hello,
I go to Dr. Richard Cloward he works under Dr. Brian Heaton. at McKay Dee hospital in Ogden. I found my doctor through the ICA website. and then matched up a doctor that went through my insurance. I really like him.
where do you both live? I will see if I can find any doctors in your area.

I am in Spanish Fork, Utah. The first doctor I went to was ****-unfortunately for me, I am told he is not all that familiar with IC, and actually handles men problems more then women. I have an appointment to go see Dr. Oldroyd, who I have been told has more experience with the whole IC thing. We will see. I tried to call my insurance to see if they recommend anyone for IC in my area, and they do not! I did find out that there is a Urogynecologist at University of Utah, Peggy Norton-however she is not in my network, for my insurance.....

Hey All, Just wanted to update you on the new doctor I went to see. It is Liz Graul in Salt Lake, with the Phase II women's center. She and her office both are amazing! I am going for my second visit with her today and I am looking forward to it! She really seems to understand IC and acts like she wants to help me deal with it and be a functional person! And she actually believes me when I tell her what is wrong with me! Amazing! I just wanted to share my good news, because with IC good news is not often found. For those of you seeking a doctor and if Salt Lake is not far, seek her out. The difference between her and my Utah County Urologist is night and day!

I am in Riverdale, right by Ogden. So we are not to far from each other.

I have an appointment at Phase II Women's Center today. Been there before for other issues. I think I might have IC... they have been great to work with so far, I hope they are for this too.

I'm chiming in a little late. I have had ic for about 15 yrs. I was seeing Lisa Stout in downtown Salt Lake for quite a few years. She did many, many sets of instillations and I was on Elmiron and Elavil. I then remissioned for about 2 yrs. When the ic came back worse then ever I had to change docs due to insurance. I went to Elizabeth Graul at Phase 2 which is in Murray. She and NP's did everything they could, everything. She finally said she could do no more and referred me to a pain clinic. That was 4 yrs ago. I am on Oxycontin which I hate, I just got approved for full SSI disability which makes me feel useless but I am grateful to have some income back. I was first diagnosed by hydrodistension and urodynamic testing with Peggy Norton at the U of U hospital. Also, my pelvic floor dysfunction (severe) was diagnosed by Howard Sharp who specializes in pelvic floor, he is also at U of U hospital. Just an FYI if you are going to try to get into the 2 docs at the U of U they are usually scheduled months out it may even be 3 to 6 months for a new patient appointment.
Good luck friends, let me know if you have any other questions I'll do my best to answer.

I will be relocating to the SLC area in the next couple of months. Trying to find a new doctor to treat my IC is my only big fear. So my thanks to you who have posted and I will surely be checking back in as my move date gets closer.
