Hello everyone,
so I went to a website and bought bulk OPKS. I typically use Answer brand. This month I think I have missed my ovulation b/c the cheap strips didn't record any line at all!!!! I was sad, I think we missed it (though my cervical fluid was off). I am sad, I think we missed our shot!!! Do you guys have recommendations for good OPKs? I'm disappointed I spent the money. I have heard to splurge on the Clearplan easy brand b/c it is more sensitive. what do you all think????
Also, since I have IC, I drink tons of water and pee a lot. Thus, I rarely hold my urine for 3 hours (as is recommended in the OPK instructions) and my urine is very diluted. Does this happen to you too? I feel like some months I don't ever get a test line that is darker than a control line.
How do you know if you are FOR REAL ovulating? I'm almost 33 so wonder if I need fertility testing. That said we've not been TTC for very long.
HELP!
Thanks!!!:smile tee

I was using the Answer midstream ones...they worked one month & then the next month all of my tests were negative :loco: Well, let me just tell you, that I did in fact ovulate that month, cause I became pregnant!! The tests were wrong  I would try another brand...or if you can pay close attention to your body & watch for ovulation signs that way, it may work better...good luck to you hun :)

I used the ClearBlue fertility monitor for months (how I learned I was not ovulating normally), used OPKs the month I got pregnant, but also checked cervical position and fluid. I found that using the OPKs was more difficult than any other method because of the IC. Cervical position is easy to learn and can be very informative. THe CBE I got off ebay with sticks for like $97, and it worked like a dream. I would checked out ebay first-- they are really expensive in the stores.
Good luck!!! And most importantly......HAVE FUN!!!!!! :evilsmile:smile tee:evilsmile

I used the answer ones and also the First Response and they were awesome! I think its worth the $$ and I was able to pinpoint ovluation. the cheap things NEVER showed a surge. Not wasting my money on those. I wound up ovlulating on Day 28. Weird!!!!
First Response, Clear Blue Easy both worked for me.
Read Taking Charge of Your Fertility, it will help you determine when your cervical mucous indicates ovulation.

I had great luck with the Answer brand, I bought the Ovlation Tracker "kit", the one that had the 20 or so strips in it because it seemed as soon as we started trying, lol, my cycles decided to be less regular than they were, ugh! I think it was the second month of using them that we conceived. I tried to watch the cervical mucous too, which, before we started actively trying, I had down pat - I could be pretty spot on with ovulation by just paying attention, but once again, as soon as we started trying, it became practically non-existant! ARGH!!!
I guess I'd try a few brands, some are more sensitive than others etc. I know how frustrating it is, lol. I am 39 and we got pregnant on, I believe, cycle 5 of trying - we did 3 months of no OPK assistance. They recommend if you are over 35 to try for 6 months, and if you've not conceived then to see your doc, under 35 and I believe it's 12 months to try before seeing a doctor - but heck, you could probably call your gyno at any time and see what he/she thinks! :) It can take a perfectly healthy fertile couple up to 12 months to conceive, so keep your chin up!!!! ;)
