I have just aquired a used bread machine that calls for bread flour for making the bread. Have you ever flared with using bread flour? Or can a person just use multipurpose flour? The recipes call for "bread flour". Are there different brands of bread flour? I want to make sure I purchase the one that doesn't bother IC.

Thanks,

Eloise

Hi Eloise,

The big difference between bread flour and all-purpose flour is the amount of gluten. It can also have extra Vitamin C or potassium, but it shouldn't be enough to affect your bladder. If you find you have problems, you can use all-purpose flour with not too much difference.

You will have fun with the bread machine, I am sure! My FIL makes all sort of bread all the time.

Hugs, Julie

Thank you, Julie, for replying to my question regarding bread flour. I think I will try the bread flour first and see how I do. Can't wait to bake in that bread machine!!!
