View Full Version : Trying MSM

I just finished reading "The Miracle of MSM" by Dr. Jacobs. I am encouraged to give this supplement a try. Aside from IC, I have allergies/asthma, and neck pain (degenerative disk disease). These are all inflammatory problems. So instead of doing the DMSO treatments, which was my next step, I feel the MSM is safe and worth a try.

I have read the MSM posts on here, but was wondering if any of you prefer the oral solution when starting out, rather than the crystals. Also, I thought I would see how this works before adding the gel to try topically. I would like to order from the Jacobs lab to start out. It didn't look like you could get it in tablet form.

I would appreciate any feedback. Thank you.

Lyn

Hi All,

Have missed not talking to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My password messed up and all I could do was read, not reply! it drove me crazy! So I apologize for this not being in the right place, but as you can see I'm challenged in this posting dept.!

Questions:

how do i reply if when I click on line nothing happens? or perhaps better question is ... what's wrong?

secondly, where is the new section for option, other treatments, etc., like for nerve injections?

Thanks so much,
Julie

MSM is a natural supplement used in a way to treat pain and inflammation. This is an alternative remedy that does not cause adverse side effects. It has been known to help people with many different ailments, including rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, heartburn, chronic back pain/headaches, and many others including IC.

You can learn more about MSM on this website: http://www.jacoblab.com/

I am trying this because I feel it is the safest, with little chance of any harmful side effects, based on what I have read. I am just not ready to dive into the DMSO, BCG, or an implant. Most others I have tried. Someday I may, but not quite yet! There are so many options, and I am just trying one thing at a time.

Julie - I am sorry I don't know how to help you . I also had a problem signing in. It took me several days and I'm still not sure what I ended up doing. I believe I had to re-register. You can email Donna or Jill and directions will be sent to you.

Julie: I just never sign out. I have a hell of time signing in, but I did change my password to one I could remember. (What the heck is with that string of numbers they give you!!!)

I think other treatments is still under Pain management? Ya gotta kinda start at the top of the opening page and explore your way down the page...it's kind of fun. No idea why your Reply button isn't working unless your computer is just barfing.

Lyn: Thanks for the information..I'm so allergic tostuff I'd have tofind out what the ingrediants are, but I sure know what you are saying!!! I have refused DMSO (I just can't get over the fact it is an industrial solvent and my body is incredibly sensitive.) The other ones we haven't talked about although I had a hellacious nerve block, and they want to do a permanent one. I'll check out that webssite.

It was called the Superior Hypogastric Nerve plexus block. Next he'll permanently kill off that plexus, should I decide to do it.

Nerve injections they make me put under Pain management. I believe in the same area as flares? They don't consider the nerve block in the same goup as nerve surgeries or such.

Hmmmm...let's see if I can find it via the old fashioned way. BRB

Alrighty...look and play under Managing IC Flares. That's where pain management is, I'm in a flare....blah, blah, blah...

t.

i wish they would give nerve blocks there own title so as not having to search everywhere.

my pain dr. is doing a sacral nerve block on me next month, also included is bulging disc and tear L4-5 so he'll include nerve block there too. I'm really hoping this works. He feels sacral emcompasses bladder/vaginal area and has had great sucess. Let's hope I'm one of them!

Yeah, my chiropractor always works the sacrum and L-3 to L-5 vertabrae because the nerves that inverate the bladder and pelvis go through there. I've heard of the sacral block, a little different than mine. Good luck.
